The Hot-House Project

2005

Video Documentary

The Hot-House was an ambitious exhibition of multiple real-time  interactive video-sound works. Each of the included pieces represent a different set of behaviors that were then integrated into The 100 Monkey Garden. The 100 Monkey Garden is an evolving artificial environment inhabited by self-replicating audio-visual structures resembling fictional architectures and artificial organisms. The underlying ideas are predicated on an investigation of the principles of chaos theory, artificial life, inter-media transcoding and network systems.

The HotHouse project was created by David Stout with invaluable assistance from artist-programmers, Luke DuBois and Cory Metcalf.

Included Works:

  1. Becoming

  2. Transit-Loom

  3. The Hyper-Vibe Mirror

  4. The 100 Monkey Garden
